SSCE Cymru is delighted to celebrate the success of a fantastic health, wellbeing and resilience programme, delivered by Forces Fitness Education CIC across seven schools for Service children, young people and their peers.
The sessions took place throughout April and May and brought the Forces Fitness team, experienced military veterans and currently serving personnel into schools to lead engaging activities that promoted confidence, teamwork, belonging and personal resilience. Service children also had the opportunity to step into peer leadership roles, encouraging and supporting others throughout the programme.
The feedback from schools and participants has been fantastic, with pupils sharing just how much they enjoyed the sessions, describing the experience as “super good and enjoyable”, “perfect”, and something they would “definitely do again”. One young person simply said, “THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH”, while another asked whether the programme could be extended over two days.
A huge thank you to Forces Fitness Education CIC, the Veterans’ Foundation, the Army Regional Engagement Team, participating schools and everyone involved for making this such a positive and memorable experience for the Service children and young people.
