The Battle of Fishguard virtual school assembly

The Army Regional Engagement Team (RET) Wales is delighted to schools to a live virtual assembly on The Battle of Fishguard, taking place on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, from 0900 to 0930hrs via Microsoft Teams (Link is located below).

This engaging session will explore the brief but significant campaign of 22–24 February 1797, often described as “the last invasion of mainland Britain.” It marked the most recent landing on British soil by a hostile foreign force during the War of the First Coalition, a fascinating chapter in Welsh and British history.

The presentation will be delivered in English and is suitable for all age groups.

It offers an excellent opportunity for pupils to learn about:
