Bridgend
Mrs Bishop and the club members really enjoy meeting up and look forward to the trips they have been on together, such as the SSCE Cymru South Wales Forces Festival that was hosted in 2023 at Maindy Barracks, Cardiff.
They are a very active group, that try to get together every 3-4 weeks. They have helped SSCE Cymru record a short best practice film and joined our team at the Nov24 SCiP Alliance Annual Conference 2024: Inspiring Impact, where they added a valuable insight into the unique lifestyle of Service children/young people in their roles as ambassadors.
Mrs Bishop has received positive feedback from parents/guardians, commenting that parents are appreciative of the work the school does for the Service children and all staff are very complimentary of the support the club provides for these pupils. This school has recently been successful with their SSCE Wales Fund application, this will be used to fund staff hours to keep the FLC going and purchase club sweatshirts that the members have designed. These will be worn when they meet and for special occasions, like Month of the Military Child and Remembrance.
