Ysgol Gynradd Baglan Primary School

Neath Port Talbot

Ysgol Gynradd Baglan Primary School's Service children club is thriving, and was established when a parent of two Service children told members of staff that the children's father, who was a currently serving member of the Army, was due to be deployed on a six month operational tour. Eve Wilson began investigating what the school could do to better support these children and got in touch with SSCE Cymru.

The school has gone from strength to strength and has achieved GOLD status as an Armed Forces Friendly School. They have hosted a Forces Festival and a Remembrance service, which were well attended and supported by the local community. They celebrate Month of the Military Child and allow their club members to share their experiences of being Service children with their peers, through assemblies with parents/guardians invited along.

We enjoy working with Eve and the schools Service children club members. Thank you for your outstanding efforts.
