Rydal Penrhos (Conwy) marked Month of the Military Child this year with a chapel Service.
The school shared:
To celebrate the Month of the Military Child, leading coeducational independent school Rydal Penrhos recently held a special whole-school chapel service at its church, St John’s. The service was attended by pupils, parents, carers, staff, and invited guests from the forces community. It not only celebrated the school's service children, but highlighted the unique challenges faced by this community, from frequent relocations to disrupted routines, relationships, and education.
As part of its strong pastoral provision, Rydal Penrhos is committed to supporting the armed forces community. The school - which educates pupils aged two to eighteen - has signed the Armed Forces Covenant and works closely with SSCE (Supporting Service Children in Education) Cymru to better understand and support the needs of service families across North Wales. In 2024, Rydal Penrhos was one of just 19 organisations in Wales to receive the prestigious Armed Forces Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award.
