Millie and Emilee had a great day at Wales' National Armed Forces Day, hosted by Newport City Council.
On 24th June 2023, the SSCE Cymru Programme Manager, Millie and East Wales RSLO, Emilee attended Wales' National Armed Forces Day that was hosted by Newport City Council. It was great to be able to catch up with the charities and organisations that we work closely with and to meet lots of families about the work that SSCE Cymru do. We were able to observe the red Arrows fly over the city during the day and were lucky enough to see the winners of the Armed Forces in Wales Awards in the evening at Rodney Parade, accompanied by some fantastic musical talent from the Military Wives Choir, The Royal British Legion Band of Wales and The Regimental Band and Corps of Drums of the Royal Welsh. It was lovely to see art work created by Service children in East Wales for a competition that was being held displayed in the River Front Art Theatre. A very enjoyable day with lovely, warm weather to go with it.
