Ysgol Pen y Bryn celebrate Silver Armed Forces Friendly School status

SSCE Cymru team members joined Ysgol Pen y Bryn school in Colwyn Bay to host their first Armed Forces Day event in celebration of them being the first school in Wales to be awarded the Silver Armed Forces Friendly Schools Cymru status.

 

The day was a huge success which saw Service children from the Eirias cluster come together to join Pen y Bryn in celebrating their achievement with a day full of fun activities and experiences including assault courses, face painting, airplane simulators, war memorabilia and arts and crafts. 

Councillor Liz Roberts, the High Sheriff of Clwyd, SSCE Cymru, Forces Fitness, Woody's Lodge, the Royal Welsh Fusiliers museum and veteran advisors were all in attendance working collaboratively with the school to ensure the children had a day to remember!
